Trans-osseous Vertebral Fixation for Interbody Cages
We are proposing a method using two parallel screws to fix an anteriorly placed interbody cage to its adjacent vertebrae through the instantaneous axis of vertebral rotation. This device was designed by Andy L. Freeman, PhD in 2022. Internet search has not revealed a technique similar to what we propose. This is not FDA approved and needs further biomechanical and animal testing .
Novel System
A fixation system using two trans-osseous screws to secure the lumbar interbody implant to its adjacent vertebral bodies.
Screws are placed through the instataneous axis of rotation and secured to the interbody implant so they will not back out.
