Nasca R&D was founded in 2023. We are doing research and development in spinal implants to enable safer and more effective treatments for various spinal deformities and afflictions.

Management Team
Richard Nasca M.D. NASCA R&D
Former Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Director of the UAB Spine Center and Spine Research Lab at the Birmingham VAMC.
Dr. Nasca will direct and collaborate the workflow and project assignments.
Lisa Ferrara PhD
President, Hypoid Ventures LLC, Hendersonville North Carolina
Dr. Ferrara will be responsible for designing the biomechanical and animal testing protocols, addressing wear debris and histological analysis, data analysis, and 510 k submission.
Ali Kiapour PhD
Director of Biomechanics, Neurosurgery at Mass General Hospital/Harvard
Dr. Kiapour will do biomechanical studies on in vitro and ex vivo cadaver spine constructs.
Robert Assell, BSME, MBA
CEO ForCyte Medical
Mr. Assell will be responsible for design, material changes and commercialization.
Andy Freeman PhD
ForCyte Medical
Dr. Freeman will be responsible for design and materials changes.
Jeremiah Easley DVM
Director of Preclinical Surgical Research Laboratory, at Colorado State University, Veternary medicine
Dr. Easley and staff will conduct the animal study.
